THE ODDS AND THE DEAD ENDS


The odds are those buildings which do not quite relate to any of the other twenty four of my families, but do not have enough common characteristics to be identifiable as another family.

The dead ends are ideas and designs which were pursued intensely, but ran into bad luck and have never had another turn.

They are dead now but may well be resurrected at any future time.
